PRIVACY POLICY

1. Scope

This policy applies to Image2Beam-operated websites and services that link to this Privacy Policy, including free-access registration, email verification, device activation, and the Community Gallery.

2. Information We Collect

Account information

• email address;
• email-verification status and timestamps;
• account and free-access/license status;
• optional display name for community features;
• optional marketing preference.

Technical and security information

• basic request and server logs;
• hashed IP or similar anti-abuse/security data where used;
• generated device identifiers or hashes for the two-device activation limit;
• limited browser/device information needed for compatibility, troubleshooting, activation, or security.

Community Gallery information

If you submit a gallery project, Image2Beam may collect project information such as engraving photos, original/prepared images, workflow, laser type and model, material, DPI, BEAM score, dither or vector method, speed, power, passes, line interval, project size, notes, and moderation status.

3. How We Use Information

• create and verify free-access accounts;
• issue, manage, recover, or revoke access when necessary;
• enforce the current two-device activation limit;
• send verification, security, access, and account-recovery messages;
• operate, moderate, and display the Community Gallery;
• prevent abuse, diagnose errors, improve compatibility, and respond to support requests;
• send optional product news only when the user has chosen to receive it.

4. Email Verification and Marketing

A working email address is required for account verification. Verification and essential account messages are transactional and separate from optional marketing.

If you opt in, you may unsubscribe from marketing messages. Unsubscribing from marketing does not disable essential account, security, verification, or service notices.

5. Device Activation Data

Image2Beam currently plans to allow up to two activated devices per free account. To enforce that limit, the service may store a generated device identifier or cryptographic hash plus limited browser/device information and first/last-seen timestamps.

6. Community Gallery and Public Information

Gallery submissions are optional. Information you explicitly submit for public display may become visible to anyone visiting the gallery.

Image2Beam should never display your account email address publicly. A separate display name may be used instead.

Before publication, submissions may be reviewed for relevance, privacy, rights, spam, safety, and compliance with the Terms. Where practical, unnecessary embedded photo metadata such as GPS/EXIF location information should be removed before public storage or display.

7. When Information Is Shared

Image2Beam does not sell user personal data to advertisers.

Information may be processed by service providers that help operate the service, such as web hosting, database hosting, email delivery, storage, security, or future authentication providers. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, valid legal process, security needs, fraud prevention, or enforcement of the Terms.

8. Cookies, Local Storage, and Similar Technologies

Image2Beam may use browser storage, cookies, or similar technologies where needed for account sessions, preferences, device activation, security, or application functionality.

If optional analytics or advertising technologies are added later, this Privacy Policy and any required consent controls should be updated before those technologies are enabled.

9. Data Retention

Account records may be retained while an account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward for security, abuse prevention, legal, support, or recordkeeping needs. Expired verification records may be deleted or aged out. Public gallery projects may remain visible until removed, subject to moderation, backups, and legal-record requirements.

10. Security

Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to protect account and service data. The current backend design stores hashed verification tokens rather than readable verification tokens and keeps database and SMTP credentials on the server rather than in browser code.

No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

11. Your Choices and Requests

You may contact Image2Beam to request help correcting account information, changing marketing preferences, removing a gallery submission, deleting an account subject to reasonable retention needs, or asking questions about data associated with your account.

Depending on where you live, applicable privacy law may provide additional rights regarding access, correction, deletion, portability, objection, or restriction.

12. Children

Image2Beam is intended for general laser-engraving users and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.

13. International Users

Image2Beam may be accessed from multiple countries. Information may be stored or processed in countries other than the one where a user lives depending on hosting, email, storage, or other providers.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This policy may be updated when Image2Beam adds new features, service providers, analytics, payment systems, AI providers, or other data practices. The effective date will be updated when changes are made.
